Celebrate my birthday...

... with a special guest.

From 1958 to 1960 Elvis lived in Bad Nauheim. And today we made a day trip to "visit" him.

Top left: a bronze statue made from a photo where he originally stands on this spot. The statue is on this bridge since 2021 and was cast especially for this purpose.

Bottom left: Hotel Grünewald, where he lived at the beginning. His room is still in its original condition and you can still stay here overnight. Back then, he had a toilet seat brought from the USA because there were only wooden toilet seats here at the time.

Top right: the villa he bought after things got too turbulent around the hotel. This is where he lived with his parents and friends and this is where he met Priscilla.

Bottom right: he ate this chocolate cake on his 24th birthday. The bakery is still there and this cake is still being baked. So it was my birthday cake too today.
