Tide Mark
A fairly obvious indicator that the river overtopped the bank during high tide last night. What is not so clear is that the present level is about 5 feet lower. With low pressure, a high Spring tide, gale force SW wind backing up the water into the estuary coupled with torrential rain in the area the result was inevitable. Further along the path which is lower the water would have covered it pushing into the flood plain beyond.
