A trip to Birmingham to visit my friend who is in Birmingham Children’s at the moment with her son who has relapsed AML. His condition has got worse over the last week and he’s been moved to ICU. Hoping his condition improves and he can go to Manchester for a trial stem cell transplant which is the only treatment option now. It is absolutely heartbreaking seeing my friend have to make such difficult decisions, face impossible realities and and cope with being beyond exhausted but so glad I went to see her made all the train delays worthwhile and whatever is going on in my life with broken down cars etc is put firmily in perspective.
