My Apple Tree

I have this very mature apple tree in my new garden. It's looked rather dead since we moved in in November but was interesting as it has lovely gnarled old branches which are covered in lichen. Within the last week it has burst into life and now is covered in new leaf.

I am so pleased this tree is in my garden as in our previous house there was a lovely old apple tree next door. Unfortunately, the neighbours the other side complained about it and the old chap had it cut down even though his mother had grown it from a pip. I was incensed as it was beautiful and the birds loved it. This time Brian and I are in control and this tree is going nowhere!!

Thank you God for replacing the tree in Ashford, that you knew I loved so much, with this glorious one. Can't wait until it blooms!
