Geek

I was in the pub last week with my pal who asked me if I'd ever read 'Geek Love' by Katherine Dunn. I replied that I'd never even heard of it but I did know the song of the same name by Bang Bang Machine, that took the number one slot in John Peel's Festive 50 back in 1992. I picked up a copy of the book from the library anyway on the way to the flicks late arvo.

Earlier on I'd spent most of the morning on a day off work lying on a sofa reading my current book with the cat sitting on me. That's only the second time he's ever done that. And he's seven. He wasn't even after anything either, maybe he's finally realised that I'm not quite the ogre he thought I was.
