Mute Swan

This is one of a pair of Mute Swans (Cygnus olor) still on the lake in Crosswinds Marsh. I photographed this one alone because its mate was nearby grooming itself, and I decided to allow the other bird some privacy. It won’t be much longer before our winter weather forces them to move to avoid the ice and find food. It is supposed to turn much colder here starting this weekend.
