Inspiring places
On the left is a painting by the German artist Caspar David Friedrich and on the right is a photo of a photo I took in 2002. Not quite the same view point but as close as I got, looking down the chalk cliffs at Ruegen.
After a discussion with a friend about how inspiring it is to visit the places captured in paintings and how you gain a deeper understanding of why the artists painted the way they did, my thoughts turned to the Creator of the universe. I was taken to the place before creation, before there was anything. Standing with God, gazing at the blank canvas. The God of love, creating a world to dwell in, to show his love to. His palette being stretched from the deepest ocean to the distant stars. The sound of his voice creating matter, exploring the full spectrum of colour. He spoke and it became. He spoke and I became. He spoke and the intricacies of my being were formed. He breathed and I came to life. He breathes and I live. He made me before the earth was. He made me from the palette of love. His inspiration when he created me was himself. My inspiration is Him.
