Success!

Honey show this evening. It was very well attended with plenty of entries in each class.
I was delighted when my honey shortbread won first!
We had a fascinating talk about pairing honey with cheese. This was given by the owner and cheese maker from Thornby Moor Dairy. She is passionate about cheese! We heard the history of the dairy, which is up near Carlisle in old Cumberland. 
The cheeses are made from raw milk, which she believes is critical to a depth of flavour, and the samples we tasted were delicious.
We had all different ages of cheese, from three day old curd cheese to well matured goat’s milk cheese, to blue cheese, all different and all delightful.
We had to buy a couple - well we need it to go with the honey…..
