It's All Over and Then....

7th May.

Remember it.

The day that Summer visited Ayrshire.

The day came in breezy and bright, the wind eased off, the wind sock sunk, and the sun made the earth warm.

I worked til 6, and when I left the office drove home windows down.... (that was more to do with the fact I was driving with the heating on full bung because the radiator was leaking :-).

I went home and loved the fact that Boy had hoovered the grass.

I loved the fact that his dad agreed with me what a good lad he had been.

And loved the fact even more, that after Boy had gone inside, Si informed me that Boy's hoovering involved running circles round the garden around items laying on the grass, not using the collector bin. Si had taken the mower, attached the lid and ran back over it again.

After a night spent harassing Sky about broken broadband...(Si), and chatting with me Mam... I went outside and sat in the garden; it was dark and it was warm, and quiet, and the smell of cut grass (thank you Si), hung in the air. The little starlings in the nest next door were settling down and chirping quietly to themselves, and I could hear the last of the children heading off home, and I thought to myself.

It's not a half bad world.
