Screech Owl

I attended an energetic and very interesting lecture tonight at the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, about 45 minutes west of here out in the boonies. Driving after dark, especially along the winding Blue Ridge Mountain Road, was an adventure. Looking at the map, I see I crossed the Shenandoah River (going and coming back) without being aware of it. Anyway, the lecture was on bat conservation and rescue. The wildlife center is well respected and supported, and it was my first time there. Enjoyed it so much! The blip is a beautiful rehabilitated screech owl; I didn't get close enough to his enclosure sign to see what particular kind or what his story was, but he's one of the few animals kept at the center because they aren't able to be released back into the wild.

Son D. continues not very well...may head up to Ohio tomorrow for a day or two with him. Have not had time for visiting journals lately and hope to soon. Thank you for your visits and comments/encouragement.
