One Day Old

Three weeks ago I put 6 Ancona eggs under a broody hen and four little chicks appeared this morning. The other two eggs were addled.  It's difficult finding anyone who has rare breeds of chooks like Anconas and the eggs came from Auckland. There are always risks when eggs destined for hatching have to travel a long distance so I'm very pleased with this result. I will be even more pleased if all four chicks are hens!
