Excavators

On Saturday I went along to a local country park with a couple of friends from my local camera club. While walking around we noticed that there had been fresh digging at a Badger set that we noticed the previous week. Looking at the fresh soil we could see that there seemed to be a lot of broken glass and crockery amongst the soil and wondered how the Badgers had got away without cutting their paws to shreads. While poking around I spotted the top of a glass bottle, the area was used quite a while ago for coal mining and our thoughts that all of the debris may date back to these times! Maybe we had stumbled across a dumping pit? As you can see from the photo the glass cleaned up quite well, and the bottle itself was square in shape, maybe a medicine or ointment bottle?
