Soldiers Field

Drove over to Elaine’s to stay for a couple of days.
We walked from her home across Soldier’s Field, through Little Switzerland and into Chapel Allerton. We had brunch at Crumb and Crust, poached eggs for me and a flat white.
Lots of independent shops there and l bought six gifts and some unusual birthday cards. Got the bus home as we were quite burdened with parcels and got off at Roundhay Park to walk back across Soldiers Field (looking resplendent in the low sun). Elaine lives just behind the trees.

Quite fitting on Rememberance Day that we walked on Soldiers Field as it was the muster point for Soldiers in the First World War to assemble before they went off in their regiments to fight. No knowing how many returned.
