Flower Friday...Poppies
The two ladies were happy for me to take a photo of their table when S and I bought our poppies this afternoon. The tradition of wearing a poppy at this time of year has been in effect since the very first poppy was sold by The British Legion in 1921. A day of remembrance, particularly moving at 11.0am when the country held a two minutes silence.
Bfriend was the usual madness this afternoon and I won the quizz on all things 'November' related!
I had a second roofer look at the roof early this morning....his opinion was a small patch, just one tile missing and he could do it this afternoon at a very cheap price! I was sceptical as I knew the damage was worse from the previous roofer's photos. Have now received his quote, which is not as bad as I feared, and the work can be done next week. So, decision made for him to do the job.
It's G&T time now, and a blip catchup.
