Two Faced Tulip

Looks good doesn't it? Looks really classic and deep and nice?
Don't be fooled. This is a trollop of a tulip!

She sits all nice and genteel when it's cloudy, or in the evening. But as soon as the sun comes out she undoes her buttons and shows you her yellow centre!

I definitely didn't plant this tulip bulb knowing it was this tulip. The border has a mix of greeny-creams and dark, dark purple tulips and lovely purple alliums. This one sticks out like a very sore thumb, especially when the sun shines.

The thing is, I don't have the heart to remove her. The bees like her and she did produce this blip. Looking back at it, she was keeping her true colour well and truly to herself!
