Pilates in Midhurst
When I was a child we used occasionally to drive through Midhurst and the Cowdray Estate houses in the town and the surrounding area were pointed out, their woodwork painted in this quite unsympathetic yellow. There are hundreds of them and it made me think of the wealth of that estate even then. Now they have the most bouji farm shop which embraces the colour in their packaging and there are certainly no fewer yellow painted houses.
I went to Pilates there first thing, determined to work on it for my back. Her new house has a studio in a walled garden by the church and my lesson ended with hearing the bugle playing for the last post.
I had to go back up to London for the afternoon to do the meeting bumped from yesterday. It was successful but not a knock out win yet. We have to do a bit of work to prove it.
Back on the 6.30 train for a relaxed dinner and first episode of Hugo Blick’s new series, The English which is rather brilliant, although knowing HB it could go anywhere.
