Not how I planned to spend my Friday
5 hours in A&E due to high blood pressure and when I say high, I mean off the scale. Very odd, I went for a check as the hospital commented that it was a bit high when I had my haemotology checkup a couple of weeks back. It was even higher this time so I was advised to contact my GP but they failed to make themselves available so I called 111 who were much more helpful. They called me back at 11:30 that night, asked some questions, asked me to take my own BP and then told me to go to the hospital without delay.
Long story short, my BP continued to climb, reaching 245/110, not the territory you want to be in but I was given medication to bring it down, had multiple tests which were all ok so it looks like a future of medication to keep it under control. Feels like the 4th bullet I've dodged, feeling rather lucky.
