One year passed by
Today it’s been exactly one year since my dad passed away.
We all tried to make it a normal day, but it’s been on our mind all day of course.
In the afternoon my sister Joke and I picked our mom up for a visite and dinner at Joke’s place. Tomorrow she’ll be at my place.
I sat in my fathers chair for a while, and saw the view he’d been seeing last year. I then realized the weather was exactly the same. Grey, foggy, and no wind at all.
At that very moment, the sun came bursting through the mist and fog and turned everything yellow and orange. That was so special.
Of course I took my phone to capture it.
The rest of the afternoon the sun stayed and made the day a bit lighter. Literally.
Still miss you so much dad.
Of course I played the piece Largo from Xerxes “Ombra mai fù” by G.F. Händel on my piano, today. I’ve been practicing that piece a lot in the last year. It was the first piece that was played on my fathers funeral, and it’s become very special to me over the last year. When I play it, he feels very near.
