Window
Soon I will know Frimley Park Hospital like the back of my hand. This morning I saw this attractive window and decided it was blipworthy. Mr Flossmo is getting better but will have to stay in his hospital bed a while longer yet. More blip opportunities perhaps?
Waiting to be seen in A&E on Friday evening was a nightmare. We struggled to even get in as someone had decided to lie down in the entrance. We were made to wait outside for a good five minutes with no coats on. Fortunately it wasn't too cold but mad all the same. The reception area was crowded and I was initially told I couldn't go in with Mr Flossmo as there weren't enough chairs! After a protest I got through. There was no access to food or drink, not even water, and no mechanism to find out how long the wait would be. After an hour and a half (we had had no evening meal) I walked back to the main part of the hospital and found a drinks vending machine... which rejected all my payment cards. I then walked back to my car to get my parking change and managed to scrape enough together for one coffee between us.
The times on the board said 1 hour to triage and six to see a doctor. It took more than 2 hours before we saw the triage nurse but we saw a doctor within about another thirty minutes. Interestingly we saw people in the waiting room seemingly giving up and leaving which begs the question did they really have an accident or an emergency? Once we had been triaged the medical care was good and seemingly has continued to be good on the ward. So one has to ask the question is the NHS at fault for the chaos in A&E or is the fault with the users?
