Shades of Green

Another enjoyable day here in North Norfolk. We walked from Thornham Old Harbour through Holme Dunes NNR. It’s a really interesting area with marshland, dunes and scrub and always a great place to see birds of all kinds. My favourite today was an elegant Greenshank - which was photobombed a by handsome Teal.
On the beach, we spotted a bird sitting very still between the tide marks, and on approaching we realised it was a solitary Redwing. It looked exhausted, and we could only hope that it regained its strength before the tide came in once more - and that it was not a victim of bird flu.
The weather was kind again - despite an overcast start, it was mild and by the end of the afternoon, there were blue skies again.
