Constitution Square, Málaga
Perfect weather again for our last day in Spain. Nice buffet breakfast in our hotel, then arranged to leave our luggage there while we headed back out into the city.
Not that long ago, we would have pooh-poohed the idea of tourist buses, but now we really enjoy hopping on and getting an overview of a new place. There's a stop close to the hotel, so we hopped on there. We did about half the circuit and got off at the Pompidou Centre, a strange multi-coloured cube that pops up out of the ground. The Hard Rock Café is nearby, so we stopped there for coffee. Carl took the sea-going version of the tourist bus while I made my way back on foot (stopping frequently) along the beautiful esplanade along the side of Málaga Park and along the main shopping street to Constitution Square where Carl joined me.
We had time for coffee and pastry there before returning to the hotel for out luggage and getting a taxi to the airport. Our flight was at 7:45 pm, we got to the airport in plenty of time and a tail wind got us back to Dublin (wet and cold) over half an hour early.
What a great trip we had! Nerja is a terrific place — and Málaga is a fine city which puts Dublin to shame.
