November?

Beautiful sunny warm day….so strange for this time of year. I spent the morning making lasagne to take with us tomorrow, then decorated the cake to take to L&D’s for lunch.
Very irritated to find that the waterproof trousers I’d ordered that should have arrived today won’t get here til Tuesday…too late….but I didn’t have time to go to the shops to get a pair so will have to do that tomorrow.
Collected Lu and we drove over to L&D’s, chatting about a recent party and about all the nonsense going on work wise at the moment. Gorgeous views out of their cottage, and nice to meet their cats. Enjoyed a roast chicken dinner with lots of chat about home renovations, daughters and their careers, work, countryside vs city living etc etc, then we set off for a lovely walk along the coast from the power station to white sands beach via the lighthouse and a fossilised forest (allegedly). More chat all the way, then home to eat cake and drink tea. Think they all enjoyed it!
Home, chatting to Lu about mother daughter dynamics (spurred on by a combination of personal experiences and having just finished our book group book called My Phantoms by Gwendoline Riley).
Made fish pies for our holiday when I got back then cleared up the kitchen and wrote some lists and gathered things together to take with us tomorrow. The weather looks to be turning much colder and wetter this week…what a shame for our forest break, but I’m sure we’ll have lots of laughs if nothing else.
