Montage
Today was my first day of work, and Abi and I were working together on montage, starting bright and early at 8.45am. And yes, it was a struggle, but not too bad in the great scheme of things! I was woken up by sunlight, things aren't all bad! Montage is pretty much cleaning everything from top to bottom, even the things that look clean. For someone with a slight obsession with putting things in straight lines and making everything look nice...well, I actually found the whole thing quite relaxing! I wouldn't want to do it as a career, but I don't mind it at all!
After work I had one of my favourite phone calls of all time. The phone call originated from chez Coloc', and I got to talk to Thomas, Thibaud, Kendra and Becky. So happy about that, and must have spent an hour on the phone catching up with everything (yes, I know, two days only later...but a lot of things happen in that amount of time!). God knows what the rest of the group here thought of me when I was wandering round (I can't keep still on the phone) shouting excitedly in French! Already, I more than miss everyone...and luckily I think they miss me too, so I will be allowed back. Only joking, of course I'm allowed back, I've already been invited! I also can't believe how much has happened in the short time that I have been gone, yet it already feels like I have been in Les Sables for ages.
The evening was spent eating, talking, making (and eating!) melted chocolate and marshmallows and watching The Hobbit with the girls and Lewis and Adam. Was nice to see it in English rather than the French version...it is never very fun to watched dubbed versions, no matter how good it might be for my French. Not much more to say about today, rather tired...but very happy to be here and settled in! This rather beautiful sunset was taken just a few metres from my current "house"...not a bad view if I say so myself!
