Grandpa and The Crocodile

Hand tinted photo of my paternal grandfather pulling a crocodile out of the Sankuru river (in what was then the Belgian Congo); on the back of the photo of bracelets is written that they came from the beast’s stomach along with ‘the feet of a native’. Granny and Grandpa are at top left in the group photo. (You can be quite sure that the creature was already dead in the photo and the whole thing staged but apparently it was a long-standing man eater and took a lot of attempts before he got it.)
