On the Don

The remains of an old sluice gate on the river Don which form a bridge over 2 lades ( millstreams). 
The lades would have taken water to the Woodside Mill about half a mile upstream which has now been demolished. The Woodside Mill produced cotton and latterly rags for the local paper making industry on the river.
