Iris Foetidissima ......

..... commonly known as Stinking Iris ..... not a name I really like! Glossy green leaves, dull purple flowers followed by large pods which open to show bright orange-red seeds.

I have walked round Pollok Park more times than I care to count but today, despite the appalling weather, I had the briefest walk with Poppy who was not keen to have any walk.
Walking through the parterre garden on our way back to the car I spotted the flash of orange. It was really too wet to use my camera but I took one quick pic while Poppy pulled and tugged ..... can't say I blame her as the rain was bouncing of the path.
