Emotion Dolls

This is a bit of an emergency blip.  I travelled down to Oxford today and had every intention of blipping Euan after we collected him from Nursery, however it's much more fun finding out about his day; jumping over puddles; acting as his cushion at down time; helping him use scissors to cut up straws, then there's the fun of bathtime and Daddy's alternative telling of the Very Hungry Caterpillar (much hilarity) and before you know it he is fast asleep.

In the playkits, geared to age, which arrive every three months, are wonderful wooden toys.  This month's box has much to do with emotional and social learning, hence the emotion dolls which are there to help when reading the books about strong emotions: frustration; calm; anger; sadness; happiness and worry, and also on hand for those occasional episodes three year olds have which might need a bit of help to explain.

Thankfully, gone are the days when 'boys don't cry' and little ones are labelled naughty or smacked when they feel out of their depth or unable to put their feelings into words.  Well, you have to hope those days have passed.
