Still experimenting with foods.

The birds have started nicking the cat food again (like they did last winter).
I forgot the other day to mention the pair of blackbirds (male&female) that also fly with the sparrows. It is a motley assortment of birds, but they seem to comprise the 'family' of birds that will inhabit my garden this winter. And they all get on, bar an occasional squabble among the sparrows.

The way the cat, Midnight, starts expanding his back, making himself even bigger, you can tell he is getting ready to hiss and clout the fox. But the fox sensibly is wary and backs away...but keeps a constant watchful eye open for that cat now he has vanished.

I woke up ate this morning, cats and birds were waiting for food (one of these days those sparrows will come pecking at the window when the fatballs run out). And the new kid on the block - ghost cat number 2. It is a tiny skinny thing, bedraggled. And has suffered in the rain recently. She (?) is a much older cat (9/10?) and waits at the kitchen door for breakfast. Finally I made a shelter by the kitchen door where she can sit in the dry, and eat in the dry. 

I need a cuppa and a nap after sorting this lot out.

It is like running a zoo...
