Puddled

Today we went to Holkham NNR. It started off fine, if a little cooler than of late and we took a detour from our usual route to see if we could find some Shore Larks which had been reported. Sadly, they were too far away and too well camouflaged for a conclusive sighting. The weather took a turn for the worse, and we had a spell of rain. We took refuge in a hide where we saw a Great White Egret and a Marsh Harrier, and had our pack lunch. By the time we had finished, the weather had brightened up and Mr PB and I went our separate ways - me to look  for fungi in the pines (extra) and the dunes. There were still good numbers around, my favourite sighting being this Brittlegill (possibly a Sickener) which was glistening from the recent rain. Also in extras is a colourful Slime Mould.
