Was your card the Ace of Spades?

You know that a franchise has run out of steam when it gets "rebooted". And you know that two franchises have reached rock-bottom when they are "Mashed up". Alien Vs Predator? Abbott and Costello Meet the Wolfman?

And so it was inevitable that The Magician and The Robot would meet up in a barrel-scraping exercise.

Sigh.

Anyway, the premise, such as it is, is that The Robot is poised to take over the world, wiping the Human vermin from existence so that even their memory becomes just a story told by Robot Nursemaids to their metallic charges, yadda yadda yadda. And Mankind's final hope is The Magician (you can sense the desperation in the way that the characters are given portentious names with capital 'T's on the "The"s). Anyway, the idea is that The Magician has to bewilder The Robot by proving that logic - the Keystone of Robotic belief - is not absolute. A bit like when Captain Kirk would make Spock's head explode by asking "When is a door not a door? When it's ajar!"

So far, The Magician has managed to "accidentally" smash The Robot's watch after wrapping it up in a silk handkerchief. So, even if the Extinction Event is not prevented completely, it is at least unlikely to be on time.
