graduation day (night)

Annie's niece has, after juggling study with work and being a wife and mother, received her university degree today.

The venue for the ceremony was a velodrome.  How cool is that?   

I really wanted to see the graduands flying round the track, gowns billowing behind - it would give a whole new meaning to getting a first.
