Peterborough
You'll not need me to tell you that this is the finest example of Early English Gothic architecture in Europe. Nor that this has been a site of Christian worship since 655 AD though this building only dates back to the early 12th C after someone carelessly burnt down the previous building in 1116.
So that's Peterborough cathedral - isn't it lovely? The entrance to the precinct is through a Norman gate and that is reached from a wide piazza which was glorious in the early evening sun.
Time for some food and I might have another walk. We've crossed the equator of the week and the sun is certainly past the yardarm so let's celebrate the impending weekend mes amis.
