The Return

All morning long I could hear their guttural, gravelly call high overhead.  The Sandhills!  Late afternoon I went to the County Open Space to see if they were settling in.  Sure enough, the cranes were making themselves at home, seemingly indifferent to the strafing of the Canada Geese.
