The colour purple

I think of November as the month of purple. The jacarandas are peaking, though photos rarely capture their essence; the agapanthus are in bud and far easier to photograph; and the borage and mustard have tiny purple flowers ready for seeding.

November is also pancreatic cancer awareness month and the emblem colour is purple. Tonight various sites in Sydney are illuminated in purple, including the new WestConnex interchange not far from my place. In truth, there was a mix of colours at the purple end of the spectrum, as per my photo, showing also magenta and blue. I thought this mix added interest to the light show. 

The interchange structure is monstrous and while some sections are still not open to traffic, note the tiny looking truck to give an idea of scale.
