Proud Dad

He's a special boy; my boy.

Although its too early to be sure, it looks like he may be dyslexic. He shows all the symptoms, struggles with names and recalling things, writes letters upside down. This makes the weekly spelling test difficult. And frustrating. And demoralising.

This week we've changed things a bit. We've concentrated on just three out of the six, all week and at every opportunity! We've written them so many times every night and every morning. We've sounded them out a million times, even on the swinging pirate ship at Legoland.

Today was the spelling challenge and he got three-out-of-six. Or, on our scheme, three out of three, that's 100%!

He was very proud and excited to tell me when I collected him this evening, and the agreed prize of a magic-zeen (magazine) has been awarded.

So, if that's the way to do it and that's what it takes, let's start again tomorrow . . .
