OVERFLIGHT

This blip is really to show that blue sky was visible here today. The sun even broke through for a few minutes but that was when I was putting on my coat and boots and it had disappeared by the time I left the house.

I had a surprise visitor about half an hour ago. I used to mention in Blip about my noisy neighbour the other side of the very thin party walls, the sweary and occasional druggie single dad coping not very well with several young children. The house actually belonged to his mum, who also owns another house at the other end of the Square which was rented to friends of her son. J and his family moved out from next door two years ago and the house was eventually sold after about 14 months on the market. The new owners never put in an appearance and the house is up for sale again, £20k more that they paid for it although we know it's in a terrible state inside and it's been deteriorating for two years now. Anyway... J's mum M turned up at the door with two very nice bottles of wine for us. She's come up from Suffolk to put the other house on the market, which she says has also been wrecked by the tenants. She was always apologising to us for J's inadequacies as a neighbour, despite the fact that he was in his 40s and we told her that she should have stopped apologising for him 20 years ago. He was affable enough and we never actually fell out, but we have enjoyed the peace and quiet we've had for the last couple of years. However, it seems that his mum still feels guilty about having inflicted him on us as a neighbour. It was a nice gesture though completely unnecessary.
