Dentist... again.

It has been very rainy in north Edinburgh and today the main junction half way to CyclopsJnr's school was flooded at least a foot deep in three directions with a car abandoned in it. This led to the main route across north Edinburgh being closed all day and all the buses redirected.

CyclopsJnr got to school ok in the car, but MrsCyclops needed to spring him out early (straight after lunch) for the dentist and that proved more complicated.

The rain was torrential and we were wet through just walking to the end of the school drive, having ordered a taxi because the buses would be unreliable. We had to go a very long and convoluted route in the taxi to get to the dentist but we were on time.

So today was the start of a root canal, as unfortunately the heroic efforts of the dentist haven't taken. The dentist drilled the back of CyclopsJnr's tooth, cleaned out the inside, put some special cleaning paste in, and sealed it up with a temporary filling. CyclopsJnr was extremely casual about it. He made polite conversation with the dentist, asked relevant questions, and patiently endured the procedure without issue. The photo shows CyclopsJnr on the way out of the dentist - looking fine and happy. Since then he's had no pain, and a normal dinner. Phew.

We now have to go to the paediatric specialist at the dental hospital for them to complete the root canal, as it is a tricky procedure because CyclopsJnr's teeth have not finished growing yet. However from CyclopsJnr's perspective the remainder of the procedure should just feel like a repeat of today.

We went home, dried out, then did a bit of Minecraft coding, a bit of a craft project, and generally relaxed a bit.
