It has nothing to do with money; one should always try to be the bigger person whether rich or poor. Whoever throws the first punch in response to a verbal assault is the weaker person. He has proven that he is vulnerable to the most cowardly form of assault, and opened himself to  similar attacks in the future from weak individuals who will want to exploit that vulnerability. Walk away quietly to find a peaceful harbour and enjoy another tranquil twilight.
