Harrogate
We set off for the Knitting and Stitching show in Harrogate early this morning.
We stopped at the Route 59 cafe for a full english breakfast and for me this was the highlight of the day.The food and service excellent. This is a well known bikers cafe.
Dropped Helen and Becky at the show and I planned a day at Harlow Carr gardens.
Harlow Carr
Very disappointing and not worth a visit. If Disney made a garden this would be it.More a children's play ground than a garden with some of the most grotesque sculptures I have ever seen, hideous in every way.Whoever made them deserves to be taken out and shot.
I have been fortunate to visit some of the finest gardens in the world and this certainly wouldn't rank among the best in Yorkshire.
Bettys Tea Room
Grim.Sausage rolls tasteless and hard and must have been baked three weeks ago.Probably the smallest sausage roll for £2.60 I have ever bought and the way it tasted I was thankful it was.
Scone. So small and thin it was a challenge to cut it in two and spread the butter on it.Not enough of it to provide an assessment of the taste.
Toilets
Dirty!
Garden Centre
So expensive the staff should have been wearing masks.Takings each day probably put into a bag marked Swag.
A long drive home through some heavy rain.
Peter has been taken into hospital.
