Wednesday: Cycling Up The Wrong Tree
First of all, thank you so much for the sympathy yesterday. It cheered me up no end, and I am also pleased to report that I am much better today.
It was a lovely evening and, as I have a day off tomorrow, K. and I decided to stop off on the way home. We went to a beer garden, 'Beertija', that we had been wanting to try for ages and we weren't disappointed! They must have had over 50 beers on the menu, including a good variety of bottled ales. The price for foreign beer was hefty but, nonetheless, if we really find that the local fizzy stuff becomes a bit bland we know where to go. And you can park your bike in the tree!
I tell you, they do love their 80s music here. The whole time we were there the music didn't progress beyond 1990 and it is pretty common here to just hear Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, you name it! I could feel my shoulder pads and mullet growing just while I sat there!
And, finally, just to testify again to the extreme loveliness of blippers, a big thank you to Cameron who sent me a copy of the See Us book so that I could see my photo in the exhibition. I am so happy to see it I can even overlook the slight misspelling of my name!
