The fading afternoon light. 15:11.
I went to have my hair cut this morning. Such a lovely sunny blue sky and crisp air. I walked home a longer way round.
After lunch we both then set off together for another walk, (punctuated by a coffee stop) and towards the last part, the afternoon light was fading. The trails of clouds in the upper atmosphere revealing there must have been strong winds blowing somewhere! (At least it looked like that to me.) I think you can maybe see them in the photo I took.
Rounding off the day we’ve been invited out to meet our friends at a hostelry for something to eat at 18:30.
Stephen used to work with Jackie, (who still works at his old law firm), Jim runs his own business supplying office furniture.
We were invited to Jackie’s 50th birthday bash several years ago at Hampton Manor, and as all the guests arrived (having been told it was to be a black tie event), Jim amazed everyone by telling us all, as each guest arrived, that it was to be their wedding! Jackie was obviously getting ready to make her entrance.
Neither of their families were told, it was such a close kept secret! But they took it all in good part.
They invited more guests for the evening bit.
It was family, close friends and work colleagues at the actual wedding at 16:00 which was in a beautifully decorated Eco chapel in the grounds. It looked like a fairy tale all lit up and decorated being late November and Christmas on the horizon.
It is now dark outside at 16:45 so I’m off to close the blinds and curtains.
