Common Enchantments

Flippin’ fun

Caught this young lady flipping pizza dough as I was having lunch at the restaurant, Wildflour Bakery and Cafe. No pizza for me ( and I had some miraculous willpower to deny myself a piece of pie, cake, cookie or giant fruit tart!). Oh my goodness…the cinnamon bun!!!! I had a really wonderful lentil soup that I may try to make here at home. It came with a bread like mini muffin (the yeasty kind with real butter) that was melt in your mouth good. I have to go back for the pizza.

This restaurant is in the little town of Saluda, North Carolina. It is a sweet little town that prides itself on its history and old buildings. I was going to park and walk to take photos but did not. Today it’s history was an antique car show on the Main Street and crowds of people. That was a anxious drive through the narrow one lane left for vehicles so I decided to go home without the walk.

I stopped at this town on my way from the apple orchard. I had used up all the apples so decided to do the two hour road trip to go get more at the orchard. I got Pink Lady and Arkansas Black ( both crisp and sweet). These should last way into December then it will be grocery store apples. Who knows where they will come from?

The hunters began their drive home at 7am with the temperature sitting at 0 again. Jerry said he will be glad to be where it is above freezing! Which may be sometime tomorrow as they travel east.
