Poinsettia progress
Parkrun
A slightly lower turnout at parkrun today – possibly because of the miserable drizzle-rain that greeted anyone looking outside before half eight. After that time, it was merely grey and miserable and freezing.
None of that stopped the event being eventful. I won’t elaborate.
It’s football-shirt week this week because of the imminent men’s World Cup inexplicably being held in Qatar, so I put my stripes on.
If you go somewhere in your stripes and another Mackem sees you, a conversation is pretty much guaranteed; such a conversation was had this morning. We get everywhere. Everywhere!
Contrary to where I’m from, it seems where we live isn’t a particularly football-mad place because there were very few football tops around, even allowing for people forgetting; we had a canny few turn up in tutus on 22 October (don’t get it? Read 22 as individual digits). It’s perhaps because the nearest professional teams are miles away.
Poinsettia
I haven’t yet killed the poinsettia.
