Antigone
7.30am: Woke up earlier to completely overcast grey skies, strong wind and noticeable rain potential. This matters because tonight is the opening of our Theatre Company's peformance of 'The Burial At Thebes" by Seamus Healey which is being performed in our outdoor amphitheatre. I am one of three Front of House people but won't stay for the whole play tonight as Alison is coming round to put the world to rights with a glass (or two) of fermented grape juice.
7.30pm The sky is now opaque white not grey - but the wind is fierce and the temperature around 17ºC. Twelve hours after my first comment, and the performance has started. Paltry audience but with sound engineer wrapped in blankets, the actors are full of fire and all is well, regardless of the wind. Thespians All.
