At Ruardean: sprungonions x
Onions of any variety are always unexpectedly pretty. They are over looked too, I think because of their commonness around the kitchen, and their bad side effects makes you rush through the preparation. No one wants to stand around looking at at an onion when your eyes are stinging at the smell of the thing.
Thats said, my favourite are the pink shallots, seen in an earlier blip here although these are a good contender. I have to be quick though, because they quickly became part if the sauce in Louisa's "Astonishing Blue Cheese Macaroni" at Lodge Farm. Much like the onions, Astonishing good! x
