Castlerigg stones

It didn't start off too bad this morning and after charging the car, doing some shopping and a coffee we set off for a 4 mile circuit via Castlerigg and the stone circle.   There were some sharp showers which coalesced into a steady downpour by the afternoon.   Our clothing kept us dry and it was a nice walk, although somewhat muddy in places.

The stone circle was overrun with people when we arrived but the deteriorating weather soon drove them away and provided a lovely misty background which showed the stones up nicely against the receding hills
