All wrapped up

I purchased these 2 tree ferns ( the big one and a much smaller one) in 2018. As they are not fully hardy they have to be wrapped up for the winter, which involves stuffing the ‘crown’ -where the fronds emerge with Hay to keep it dry, then tying up the fronds and wrapping the whole growing area with some form of insulation and horticultural fleece.
With the impending cold weather I felt it prudent to wrap them up this weekend, especially as the large one has had 16 fronds this summer, following us repotting it in the spring. I am so glad I did this as not long after we had a massive hail storm! Photo of hailstones in extras.
