Unconventional…

… was one of the words used by Angela’s children to describe their mother at the service today to celebrate her life.

Angela was also creative, artistic, dramatic, whacky, a linguist, muchly travelled, a wonderful sportswoman, swimming every day even until recently and had cycled many hundreds of miles fundraising for St Christopher’s Hospice, had been the carer for her late husband, a worrier for her children because she loved them.

Angela was a member of the magic circle and a hypnotist, an escapologist, a mind reader and an entertainer for over fifty years. She often met her children from school dressed as Super Woman.

She was a friend who shared her love of musical theatre with us. We went to many London shows with her and many others. We shared birthday dinners where she entertained us with her magic skills and had us flummoxed and in fits of laughter.

We shall miss Angela lots. She was very different from us and today we learnt more of those differences but we are so grateful to have known her and thankful to her for including us in so much, for broadening our lives. That our differences didn’t come between us and that we could share so much of God’s wonderful world with her.
