a day of big skies and landscapes. pootled about on skye - our first visit so we just wandered about in the car seeing what we could see. a day of dramatic down pours and bright sunshine.

comforted ourselves in a cafe with a harbour view in Portree and met Jasper the dog who wanted stones thrown in the water until he was shaking with cold.

played beach tennis next to a deserted beach by a tiny hamlet on the west coast. drove to carbost to see if the talisker distillery was open but no luck on a sunday. bought sweeties to see us home.

this is loch alsh - i could not do justice to the skies and landscape which looked so rich and textured that they could have walked straight off a canvas. the day ended with a double rainbow over the fishing boats and pissed backpackers weaving across the empty car park.
