Good News!
I said yesterday that I would take a Blip break and as you can see, I have failed dismally!
I had a terrible time getting out of bed this morning due to the pain. I got the heat pad out and had a bit of a cry.
I wasn’t looking at my phone much and when I did I had two missed calls and recognised the number as an NHS one.
I guessed it was the Pain Clinic and rang them back. After my group online appointment in August (don’t start me on that!), I said I would be happy to be placed on the cancellation list in the hope of being seen sooner. As you can imagine, there is an incredibly long waiting list. Feeling very grateful to have been offered an appointment today for early December.
I requested a face to face appointment as I felt I needed this after struggling for so long and having had next to no clinical support throughout Covid times.
I was very grateful for my friends and for Marc who I spoke to on the phone throughout that time. He was very supportive and understanding of both my frustrations with the NHS and my chronic pain. I hope I helped him feel better about his life too. We don’t speak now but I wish we did. Perhaps time will heal things.
Today’s Blip is of some carnations I picked up on Friday. They’re just starting to burst open. I’m not a big flower fan but I do love a carnation.
Thank you for all your kind comments regarding my fibromyalgia flare up. I really appreciate them all. Keep your fingers crossed for me re the Pain Clinic - it’s with a specialist pain physiotherapist at the beginning of December.
Please let me know if you have had any experiences of attending a Pain Clinic. I will keep an open mind but would be interested in hearing your personal experiences.
I’ve done my Duolingo German for the day - I was pleased to get over 90% despite the pain and fatigue. I’m on Day 85 of my revision streak.
I hope your week has got off to a good start too. I’m continuing to catch up with comments, I’m sorry it’s been slow progress playing catch up :) xx
